Do you like nature but don’t want it to touch you? Maybe you enjoy camping but still want the creature comforts you’re used to. If this describes you, perhaps glamping is for you!
Glamping is short for glamorous camping, and you can achieve this in several ways; by cabins, treehouses, RVs, hotels, vans, trailers, or yurts, to name a few. But is glamping better than camping? Decide for yourself as we explore the world of glamping.
Because glamping has become more popular in the last decade, there are many unique ways to go glamping. You can even live your life glamping now that many people are working from home.
What are Glamping Cabins?
In many national parks and local campgrounds, there are cabins. Camping cabins range from simple to deluxe.
A simple cabin typically holds four people, usually on bunk beds. You provide everything, linens, towels, etc. There are no bathrooms or kitchens.
Basic cabins do not have air conditioning, making them available only in the summer months.
A deluxe cabin can feature multiple full-size beds, cable, a kitchen, refrigerator, pots and pans, and a bathroom. Depending on where you choose to camp, they may offer more.
Glamping in National Parks
Glamping in national parks is very popular. Many people choose to camp in a national park because of the views; they are incredible. It’s often cheaper, always an adventure, and many memories can be made while camping.
Many national parks have cabins, oTENTik (if a cabin and a tent had a baby), yurts, and even teepees.
Quite a few national parks have glamping accommodations; Thomas Raddall Provincial Park in Nova Scotia, Outpost Co in Ontario, Waterton Lakes Nation Park in Quebec.
Glamping in a Yurt
When you picture a yurt, what is the first thing that you think of? Probably a tent that pops up. It may surprise you to see what yurts are capable of.
Nowadays, yurts can be gorgeous tents that house an entire king-sized bed, shelves, a couch, and more.
Some yurts are portable, whereas many are stationary because they hold much more.
Glamping in an RV
Glamping in an RV is one of the simplest and often the cheapest ways to glamp, especially if you plan to make it a habit or want to live in an RV.
Living the glamping lifestyle is becoming more and more popular. People will buy an RV or a van and transform it into a home. This is a fantastic way to visit national parks and see family.
The tough decision is finding an RV that fits you. Glamping in an RV can easily be considered luxury camping. How luxurious do you want to be?
